Man Defends Cider Storage Moves After Prohibition Inquiry
Elyria, Jan 22 Henry Neip of this city convinced Mayor Jones that no attempt was made to violate prohibition laws when four barrels of cider owned by Neip were transported through the streets. Neipfoot showed a section of the rack to the garage where the liquor had been stored to prove a forced entry and theft. He moved the cider to his Abbey road home, seeking permission to transfer before removal from the premises. While preparing to visit police and the auto club for a license plate, he learned his employees had taken the load and were arrested. Neipfoot blames a Riverdale court woman for the trouble, alleging she called police to settle scores. After warning him to secure permission, the case was dismissed and he was allowed to convey the cider to the Abbey road house.
