Avon mayor’s home disturbance ends with arrest
A 19 year old Avon man, Matthew Colbert of Stoney Ridge Road, was arrested at Mayor James Smith’s home on Periwinkle Way after a party disturbance. He faces vandalism, aggravated trespass, disorderly conduct by intoxication, underage consumption and obstructing official business charges. He allegedly re entered through an unlocked door after being asked to leave, damaging glassware and an antique desk with a baseball bat. A preliminary hearing is set for Tuesday at Avon Lake Municipal Court.
