Three Oberlin liquor offenders fined for selling alcohol

W. B. Richmond of 319 B Eighth street today announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for Mayor at the August primaries. A La Grange native, he led Nickle Plate Quarry schools for 14 years and served on the LaGrange centralized schools board. He moved to Elyria in 1919 and joined the County Commissioners board that September. He has been Lorain County Farm Bureau second president, WWI Food and Crop Commissioner, and currently serves as Secretary of the Lorain County Agricultural Society and chairman of the City Planning Commission.

Ice Causes Two Crashes At Same Stop On Icy Route
An ice covered road at Stop 10 Route 57 between Elyria and Lorain caused two automobile accidents within 30 minutes. Frank Mourton of Oberlin sideswiped John Mooney of Lorain at the turn, both cars damaged with no injuries. A second crash involved a woman driver at Stop 17 who overturned on the streetcar track but then continued home. A resident spread cinders after the incidents to prevent further slides.

Fire damages Perkins Motor garage on Lodi Street

Butcher Resists Bandits in Cincinnati Store Shootout
Cincinnati Jan 21 Sylvester Geiger 22 a butcher at the H. H. Liedhegener Store was shot perhaps fatally when he resisted two bandits. One robber entered the store and another acted as lookout. Geiger fired five times before the pair fled. Physicians said he probably would die.
