Blind inmate kept in isolation three months in underwear
Will Thomas, 67, was placed in a strip cell at Orient Correctional Institution after a scuffle with Officer Vicky Wilder on Oct 5. He endured three months in isolation with minimal bedding, a steel bed, and few blankets, which officials say was improper and under review. Prosecutors did not charge him for the assault. Thomas’ sentence runs until June 17, 2003.
