Ridgeville Firemen Hurt In Bitter Cold Blaze
Three North Ridgeville firefighters were injured battling a house fire at 7791 Maddock Road in 10 degree weather. The Kilby home was a total loss with no hydrant connection. two Eaton Township fire units assisted, and Elyria Fire Department sent six more. Firefighter Scott D. Bement, 28, survived smoke inhalation and head injuries. Richard Miller, 26, sustained facial burns. Eugene Kleinholtz, 32, injured a thumb. The Kilby family was not home.
