Lorain County Republican Party Executive Committee urged Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose to appoint Amherst resident Mike Witte to the Lorain County Board of Elections. Witte would replace Jack Baird, who cited health concerns and said it was time to step down. If appointed, Witte’s four year term would begin March 1.

Brighton Township Driver Killed In Head-On Crash
A two car crash on Route 18 in Brighton Township killed Medina man Robert Bilbrey aged 69. Jules Tussaint 25 from Royal Oak Michigan drove a 2023 Dodge Charger eastbound and collided with Bilbrey in a 2005 Toyota Corolla headed west. Tussaint was injured and released at the scene. Anguiano 24 from Troy Michigan was also injured and treated. No charges filed as investigation continues. drug or alcohol use not believed involved. Welfare and rescue crews assisted at the scene.
