North Ridgeville police charged 36 year old David R. Kelley with assault and disorderly conduct after allegedly punching 11 year old Devontae Armstrong during a football game between Elyria Mini Pioneers and North Ridgeville Rams at Frontier Park. Armstrong treated for blunt abdomen injury at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center. Kelley surrendered and faces arraignment in Elyria Municipal Court.

Amish buggy collision leaves two dead and one injured
A truck struck an Amish buggy on state Route 58 in Huntington Township killing the passenger Jon Swartzentruber 25 of Homerville and the horse. The buggy operator Levi Shetler 54 of Wellington survived and was hospitalized then released. He described Swartzentruber as a loyal helper and good man. A second vehicle driven by Mark Jones 61 of Jeromesville struck the buggy’s left rear.
