Backhoe Repairs Favored Over New Purchase by City Council
The finance committee urged repairing a 1953 tractor backhoe rather than buying a new one, estimating about 700 for transmission and drive shaft work. Mayor Dunn and Safety Director Kellogg favored repairs, while Dunn warned the fix would be throwing money down the sewer, noting a new machine was ordered last week for the water department.
