Amherst Hospital Association re-elected six trustees Robert Hubbard Jack Koontz Neil Gilbert Elmer Hume George Hollstein and Raymond Musilla for three year terms at its annual meeting held at Powers Elementary School. Officers will be elected Jan. 27.
Hospital news records show newborns for Hawley Carruthers McQuaid and Greer, with addresses in Brunswick Elyria Wellington and Wellington. Admissions for Friday to Sunday include numerous residents from Elyria Wellington South Amherst Wake London and Vermilion with multiple street addresses and nursing home listings.

North Ridgeville school officials plan to award two construction contracts at a special board meeting to fund the building program. The elementary project had been budgeted at 1,876,584 dollars but needs higher costs, prompting a readvertisement for bids and an extra state grant of 89.38 dollars. local taxpayers will cover about 635,275 dollars as part of the building program after a bond issue approved last summer.
Nine members were appointed by Mayor to form a Charter Review Committee for North Ridgeville. The slate includes Dr Theo Finegan John Pais Robert Gilder William Gardner Mrs Frank Otto James Barnes David Gaede Leroy Stacks and John Wilkinson. The council also moved to refer an ordinance re zoning 2552 acres at 34378 Lorain Rd from R 1 residential to B business and commercial in response to Fred and Betty Patitt. The meeting included acknowledgment of the annual police report and a traffic light installation at Route 20.
Ridgeville Grange holds a golden day program honoring Mr and Mrs Glen Beecher with a wedding theme and floral tributes. A district meeting follows in Room 101 as members prepare for the Op Forward event with a state grange representative speaking about the future.
