Husband Charged With Murder In Death Of Wife

Fostoria Ohio police charged 32 year old George Lloyd Buck with first degree murder after Mary Francis Buck 27 was found dead in the attic of the Buck home from multiple blows with a wooden instrument. The body showed two broken ribs a blood clot on the brain and evidence of strangulation. Buck admitted striking her January 8 when she returned home intoxicated and refusing to say how she spent New Year’s Eve.

Detroit Men Escape Death In Route 20 Crash

Two Detroit men Herbert B. Caston and Franklyn Williams escaped a fatal crash when their car skidded on slick pavement on Route 20 West of Wakeman. Caston was thrown clear and suffered potential internal injuries. Williams had minor injuries as the vehicle split in two and tore apart behind the dashboard. Seven Hurt After Icy Two Car Collision Near LaPorte

Seven members of the Suta and Wilfong families were treated at Elyria Memorial Hospital after a two vehicle crash on Grafton road near LaPorte. Cause cited as icy highway from mixed rain snow and cold. Delbert Wilfong drove a car south on Route 5 crossed center line and struck the Suta car head on. An International News Service report notes a cool air mass moved into Ohio ending a brief warm spell. A cold front from central Canada touched northwestern Ohio this morning, bringing light freezing rain to the north and light rain to the south. The Weather Bureau predicted rain would turn to light snow flurries later, with frigid temperatures between 12 and 20 degrees tonight.

Gen Schultz Resigns As 37th Officer

Brig. Gen. Delbert E Schultz assistant commander of Ohio's 31st Infantry Division resigned today due to health. Maj. Gen. Albert E Henderson accepted reluctantly noting extensive upper spine surgery needed. Schultz, resident of Defiance, will be succeeded by Col. Loren G Windom of Reynoldsburg, commanding officer of the 166th Regiment.

Father Of 2 Children Dies In Sugar Ridge Road Crash

Marvin Moore a 29 year old Beatrice West Virginia native and Elyria brick mason died when his car crashed into a tree on Sugar Ridge road just east of Abbe road shortly after 3 am. His wife Barbara 24 suffered a fractured finger neck injury and brush burns but was not seriously hurt. Their two children Sharon four and Tarry Lee two months were not in the car. Moore lived 11 years in the area and attended St. Jude's Church. Burial is planned in St. Mary's cemetery with services Tuesday at 9:30 am. He is survived by his father five brothers and six sisters and the Suarez funeral home is handling arrangements.
