Republicans See Early Tax Cuts, Favor Waiting on Budget

A Ways and Means poll shows most Republicans favor an early personal income tax cut but want Congress to decide the budget size first. Many Democrats also back reductions if feasible, but doubt enough savings exist now. A broad wait-and-see stance dominates, with only a few backing Knutson's 20 percent proposal. Several named Republicans express support for a cut after budget clarity.
