Kathleen Ellen Kennedy formerly of Coolspring Pennsylvania died January 8 2009 at her daughter’s home in Elyria after a long illness. Dicken Funeral Home Elyria was in charge of arrangements.
Richard L. Sabo, born August 13, 1935 in Lorain, served in the US Army in Vilseck during the Berlin Crisis, had a major league tryout with the Washington Senators in 1956, worked in Elyria at Milford River and General Plug, started at Pine Brook Golf Course, and with The Chronicle Telegram. survived by wife Verna and many relatives. Services set with calling hours January 16, 2009 and funeral Mass January 17 at St Donald D. Fried in Elyria.
Sidney R. Byars died January 12 2009 at Fisher Titus Medical Center NorwalkBorn May 24 1931 in Oberlin to Clayborn and Ruth Byars He worked as vice president at TO Murphy Oberlin later for Schodorf’s Plumbing and Heating Martinez Construction and a driver for the Service for the Aging He was a Grace United Methodist Church member ACPA pilot license and Masonic Lodge 787 Elyria He is survived by wife Beverly three children Michael Mark and Amy ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren Funeral at Grace United Methodist Church Willard January 15 2009 with Rev Doug Winner Memorials to the church.
Mary Aldrich 74 of Elyria died at Hospice Center of St Joseph Lorain. Born October 4 1934 in Elyria she lived in Wellington 30 years before returning to Elyria. She graduated Elyria Catholic High School 1952 Bowling Green State University 1956 and worked for the Red Cross 1956 1959 and 1974. She belonged to St Mary and St Jude churches Elyria Elyria Service League and several clubs. Survivors include daughters Sue Conrad Betsy Stange and son Peter Aldrich and grandchildren. Mass Friday January 16 2009 at St Mary Church. Burial Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials to Horsey Scholarship Elyria Country Club Elyria Catholic High School or Lorain County Historical Society.
