Eagles star Murphy injures knee in Christmas tournament
Eagles guard Jose Murphy sprained a knee in the Trinity Christmas tournament but scored three goals in a Jan. 3 win over Avon Lake. He then sat out a win over Hudson and underwent surgery this week, aiming to return next Wednesday. SWC tournament chances dim as Brecksville looms. Murphy’s return could impact Baron Cup play and nearby rival matchups. Other players including Minch, McBride, Konyesni, Hammlermeister, and Sutton have led with 20 plus points through 18 games.
