Researchers test synthetic interferon on humans at Houston

Fire victims mother charged with neglect in Illinois fire
Virginia Williams, 28, three months pregnant and mother of 13, held on 5000 bond on neglect charges after a fatal Sunset Gardens Cemetery blaze. State says she lacked adequate supervision and could face up to one year in prison and a 1000 fine or probation. Several hundred attended closed coffin services for 10 month to 11 year old victims, including twins. Williams cried upon viewing the caskets as her oldest daughter Elizabeth, 13, mourned. Williams’ unemployed status meant the state paid part of the funeral. Jones, the boyfriend and father of several dead children, said his son Carl, 7, started a fire in the same home two weeks earlier. The fire likely started from a gas space heater. victims died of smoke inhalation on the second floor.
