Lorain Mayor Joseph Koziura was arrested after police observed him weaving on West 30th Street and Oberlin Avenue. He failed a field sobriety test and registered a 0.088 blood alcohol level, below Ohio’s 0.10 limit, as officers took him to the station. He claimed he was out checking on parking problems.

The plan raises basic aid by 100 million and details district allocations like Elyria and Midview.
A county grand jury will consider charges next week against Elyria patrolman Todd Zack accused of sexual misconduct. Zack denies the allegations, claiming the accuser seeks to jump on a bandwagon. Police officials say the investigation could yield felonies and involve Sgt. Scott Sargent in related inquiries.
Elyria officials move to terminate a December 18 tow contract with Winebrenner Auto and Truck Service after a city committee found it violated state law. The council plans formal termination January 20, with a 60 day notice to follow, per city solicitor’s review.
