Earliest 1921 Christmas lights draw town interest
The 1921 Elliott Christmas light display on 620 Park Ave and later 405 Park Ave, featured home made wiring and green and red bulbs. Dr Merton Elliott, a dentist, inspired neighbors with Santa and sleigh on the roof and color flicker lights powered by an old washing machine motor. His family included two Elyria dentists, Dr Tom and Dr Duke Elliott, and his mother in law was Dr Arthur Glen.
