Micah Gibbs, a Detention Home officer, was suspended for three days for using excessive force against a 16-year-old inmate during a Dec 18 altercation at the facility. The inmate lunged during a church service and ended up on Gibbs on the floor as another officer restrained him.
An 11 year old fired a shot at an 8 year old girl walking with two cousins on West 20th Street and Washington Avenue around 4 30 p m. A black vehicle pulled up and a man fired a silver handgun. The girl fled home and told her mother. Police said neither girl nor mother knew a motive.
