North Korea pushes U S to accept nuclear freeze offer
North Korea on its anniversary of expelling U N weapons inspectors urged Washington to accept a freeze on its nuclear program as a first step toward renewed six nation talks. KCNA said the offer could ease the crisis while the United States called Pyongyang's plan a positive step forward amid international pressure. Russia and China seek a broader compromise to resume talks.
