Marietta Boy Hamilton Jett Died After Guards Beatings
Marietta, Ohio June 11 A private post mortem on Hamilton Jett 17 held at Lancaster raises charges of guard beatings at the State Industrial School. Jett died Wednesday after illness attributed to pneumonia following a Dec. escape and recapture. His mother alleges bruises on back hips neck and face and says the boy begged her not to tell. Prosecutor Myers and Rep Creighton may seek a full inquiry. Superintendent Harsh denies whipings and says Jett was placed in the discipline family after recapture.
