Edinburgh man freed after 20 years on death row returns home
Ken Richey, once inches from execution in Ohio, arrived in Edinburgh after more than two decades on death row. The 43 year old, who was 18 at his last home visit, greeted reporters and thanked supporters as weather delays altered travel plans. He pleaded no contest to involuntary manslaughter related charges from a 1986 fire that killed a toddler, receiving credit for time served and agreeing to leave the United States under a plea deal to address safety concerns for him and his family.
