Second Polish clergyman resigns over police links
A second prominent Catholic cleric resigned amid allegations of ties to the communist era secret police. Rev. Janusz Bielanski stepped down as rector of Krakow’s Wawel Cathedral, after Krakow archbishop Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz accepted the move. The resignations follow Warsaw Archbishop Stanislaw Wielgus’s sudden resignation the day prior amid similar charges.
