Lorain County Corn-Hog Program Ruling Impacts 1936 Plan
The Supreme Court's voiding of the AAA affects Lorain County corn-hog and wheat programs, halting 1936 contract activity. In 1935 county signers received about $24,989 in AAA payments, with corn-hog recipients averaging under $190 and wheat under $50 per farmer. The ruling disrupts final 1935 payments and future plans, though county farmers note dairy, poultry, fruit and vegetables are more central to income.
