Immigration resolution moves toward final passage in Oberlin
The Oberlin City Council moves toward a final vote on an amended immigration sanctuary resolution. Eighteen residents spoke pro and con, with Walter Thompson and Mellander voicing concerns about enforcement and status. Police Chief Thomas Miller urged caution while noting the policy’s potential looseness. The measure cleared its second reading 3-0-1 and heads to a third reading January 20.
