Half of extremely premature babies have school age disabilities
A major study of 241 children born at 22 to 25 weeks shows 46 percent with severe or moderate disabilities and 34 percent mildly disabled by age around six, with 20 percent no disabilities. Surviving infants face learning, vision, hearing, and cerebral palsy challenges guiding discussions on resuscitation.

UC researchers conclude easier access to Plan B emergency contraception through pharmacies or personal stockpiles does not lead to riskier sexual behavior or lower pregnancy rates. The study tracked about two thousand San Francisco area women aged 15 to 24 for six months, finding many did not use the pills after unprotected sex.

Ukiah's first organic certified restaurant serves standards
Ukiah Brewing Co in California earned the nations first organic restaurant certification and remains one of only two in the United States. Owner Eli Cooperrider, a former biologist, spends weeks and up to 1600 dollars annually to keep every ingredient from federally certified organic providers. The push reflects rising consumer demand as organic sales rose to 12.7 billion in 2000 04 and expected to double by 2008.
