Carbon monoxide leak evacuates Veterans clinic in Columbus
About 100 patients and 270 employees were evacuated from the Chalmers P Wylie Veterans Administration Clinic on Columbus east side after a carbon monoxide leak. Seven people were taken to Ohio State University Medical Center for treatment and one more person experienced a seizure. Firefighters responded within minutes, contained the leak in about an hour, and the building remains closed pending investigation into the cause, believed to be a furnace-related mechanical issue.
