Elyria Schools Maintain Policy of No Noon Lunches
The Elyria school system will continue its policy of not providing noon lunches in elementary schools. Principals agreed in a meeting with the superintendent that overcrowding and limited facilities prevent a full lunch program, though a few exceptional cases may receive temporary permits. Superintendent Harold H. Exblin noted Hamilton has a supervised lunch for about 50 students, while most Elyria schools do not support carrying lunches. Until a facility-wide program is feasible, no noon lunches will be offered.
