Vermilion Mitch Montgomery scored a game high 26 points to rally the Sailors past Willard 54 45 in a Sandusky Bay Conference battle. Willard led late before Montgomery hit a 3 from the left corner and finished with a layup and a free throw after a Joby Pfeil steal. The win lifts Vermilion to 7 1, 5 0 in league play while Willard falls to 3 6, 3 2.
Midview built an 18-0 lead and never let Avon Lake back in, winning 41-30 in a Southwestern Conference wrestling dual. Four pins helped the Middies improve to 3-0 in SWC duals as Jame son Shenberger and Avery Snyder delivered key wins. Shenberger dominated early with a 12-2 decision.
