City settlements top 3.25 million in sewer case
The city has reached settlements totaling more than 3.25 million as damage to a 15 million sewer is estimated at 5 to 6 million. If final, three defendants remain for a January 10 trial: Nylonge Corp. of Elyria, Kokosing Construction Co. of Fredericktown, and Willard Construction Co. of Cleveland. Shilling expects no settlements with these firms before trial. Willard is bankrupt, limiting collection prospects. Nylonge and Kokosing are deemed most responsible.
