Grafton couple hit by 9 1 1 data glitch in Lorain County
Grafton Township couple Philip and Shirley Sukel discovered the enhanced 9 1 1 system failed to display their address during a Sunday stroke call. The dispatcher manually relayed details while Sukel, a volunteer firefighter, had already alerted his department. Jenny Magyar, 70, was taken to Allen Memorial Hospital in Oberlin and listed as stable. Agency director Gene Park attributed the error to Alltel and GTE data mismatches, with two other area families affected. Park said Sukel’s data would be added to the system, and urged residents to verify enrollment by calling local numbers.
