Ron Simon a top squad leader in Tay Ninh Vietnam
Sgt. Ron Simon 21, son of Norman and Mrs. Simon of Columbia Station, rises from private to sergeant in little more than a year. He leads a 12 man squad on company strength patrols in Tay Ninh Province facing sniper fire and occasional rocket attack. He earned praise from his company commander for his leadership and says morale letters from home boost troops. Homecoming planned for late February after service since Feb 26 arrival.
