First baby of 2011 born in Lorain County
Sophia Christine Sullivan weighed five pounds eleven ounces and arrived at 10 42 a m Saturday at Mercy Regional Medical Center as Lorain County s first baby of 2011. Her mother Rebekka Thomas 20 of Elyria said she looks like her father Trevor Sullivan 21. The birth followed a 5 a m stomachache and occurred without an epidural as nurse Kristine Brumley described the delivery as fast and natural lasting under three hours after arrival.

Man Arrested After New Year Gunfire in Lorain
Lorain man Michael Marshall White 27 was charged with discharging a firearm on or near a public roadway carrying a concealed weapon possessing weapons while intoxicated and possessing weapons while on probation after police stopped him near East 29th Street and Apple Avenue at 4 14 a m following multiple gunshots heard as 2011 began. He appeared extremely intoxicated and a gun was found in his pocket. Vermilion police Sgt Steven Davis provided the police report details.
