Airline coffee spill results in lawsuit
A Lorain County lawsuit seeks 750000 from Piedmont Airline and a flight attendant after a New Year s Eve 1984 coffee spill. Diana Hoffman of Columbia Station alleges first and second degree burns from a Miami to Cleveland flight on August 31 1984. Her husband Kenneth Hoffman seeks 250000 for care and rehab.

The Sheffield-Sheffield Lake Youth Baseball Association seeks donations to fund a one acre sports complex off Abbe Road north of the railroad. Plans include baseball diamonds, a soccer field, football field, concession stand and an activities hall. The land became property of the association on October 3 after a $10,000 down payment.
