Sheriff asserts sole authority over Lorain County 911 dispatch
Lorain County Sheriff Phil Stammitti told the Board of Commissioners that his office alone is legally authorized to operate the countywide 911 dispatch center citing state law. The dispute over MARCS versus L3Harris CCI radios has persisted for over a year with legal questions unresolved and possible outside counsel sought by officials.
