Roy Russell 67 active in area social service dies
Roy Russell 67 of 226 N Lake St South Amherst died Sunday at Lorain Community Hospital after a weeklong hospitalization for a heart condition. Born in Waynesburg Kentucky he lived in South Amherst 32 years and belonged to Old Fashioned Grace Baptist Church. He worked 32 years for Cleveland Quarries Co retiring in 1975 and served as treasurer of Local 3240 United Steel Workers of America. Survived by wife Daisy two sons one daughter 17 grandchildren and one great grandson and a sister. Funeral at Hempel Amherst followed by burial at Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials suggested to Amherst Mental Health or Lorain Community Hospital coronary care unit.
