Baseball Reds Lose Bordley to Giants in Draft Shifts
Bill Bordley signed a one year deal with the San Francisco Giants after the Reds failed to sign him. Bordley joined the Giants roster and later drew their rights in a special drawing. The Angels were penalized for tampering as this unfolded. Pete Rose and Manny Trillo were cleared to report late to Phillies spring training amid a swap with the Chicago Cubs that sent Greg Gross Dave Rader and others to Philadelphia for Foote Sizemore Martin Botelho and Mack. Jerry Martin replaced Bake McBride in the deal.
