Fifty plus members of Iowa and Illinois legislatures back his candidacy as Coolidge’s re-election news stirs Western support. Washington Feb 26 Samuel Insull multi millionaire again refused to answer questions before the senate election committee. The panel voted to cite him and two other witnesses for contempt. Evidence showed Insull donated 125000 to the primary campaign of Senator designate Frank L Smith from Commonwealth Edison funds.
The committee announces Robert Yencon president of Western Tre serve University will address the Elyria Federated Men's clubs annual meeting at the First Methodist Episcopal Church in Elyria city on Friday March 4. Dinner will be served at six and the meeting will interest the Protestant churches of the city.
Crawford County faces an empty treasury after a court injunction blocks December certification. The county sought ways to raise funds to cover the March 1 payroll and current expenses as it inches toward resolving the financial shortfall. Also, the American Red Cross reports it has workers in Nicaragua despite rumors that U S. Marines blocked treatment for Sacada soldiers.

Seward Alaska reports a ferocious storm at sea with one hundred boats from the halibut fleet battered and drifting a hundred miles from shore. Nearly 1000 men aboard are endangered as several vessels are scattered and stay missing. Some boats may be lost with all hands. the fleet includes about 100 vessels.

In Los Angeles on February 24 the death of Lynn B. Reynolds, director of western thrillers, was officially recorded as suicide. Coroner Rance issued a death certificate and halted further investigation, with no inquest planned.
