California bag ban headed to ballot in 2016 vote
California faces a statewide vote after a trade group turned in enough signatures to place the plastic bag prohibition before voters in 2016. The American Progressive Bag Alliance said it gathered over 800,000 signatures, well above the 505,000 needed, challenging a law Gov. Jerry Brown signed last fall to phase out single-use bags at large grocers.
