North Ridgeville eyes using federal housing funds for repairs
The city may use its 200000 dollar share of a 2100000 dollar federal housing grant to help first time buyers and renovate homes rather than demolish them. Two foreclosed neighborhoods identified by surveys may not meet low income criteria but could still benefit from repairs and new buyers if funds allow.

Teens charged in arson plot at Elyria group home
In Elyria three teens faces charges after fires were started at Stepping Stone group home on Infirmary Road. A 14-year-old ward of the state planned and set three fires using a lighter and cooking oil soaked clothing. A 16-year-old distracted staff and another 16-year-old supplied the lighter. The fires were put out by staff and deputies. All three were removed to the Lorain County Juvenile Detention Home.
