Joseph George Elek 81 of Elyria died February 23 2007 at Center Ridge Health Campus North Ridgeville after a brief illness. He worked 40 years at Ridge Tool Co retiring in 1988 and served in the 1482 Engineers in Europe and the Pacific. He was a Magyar United Church of Christ member and a Cleveland sports fan. Survivors include wife Magdalene daughters Christina Vicki Ann Marie and sons Gary Joseph Gregory 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Friends may call Monday 4 to 8 PM at Bauer Laubenthal Funeral Home and services Tuesday at Magyar United Church with burial at St Mary Cemetery. John F. Geyer 82 of Snellville Georgia and formerly Mount Gilead died February 21 2007 at Emory East Hospital after an extended illness. He served 1943 45 as A 26 gunner in World War II with the 668th Squadron 416th Bombardment Group. He co founded Geyers Markets Inc with his brother Mel beginning in Mount Gilead in the 1950s and served as president until 1977. He is survived by wife Alice two sons a daughter seven grandchildren 11 great grandchildren six sisters and two brothers. A memorial service is set March 17 2007 at 11 00 AM at the Church with burial at Rivercliff Cemetery. Memorials may go to Trinity United Methodist Church or the American Heart Association.
