Two Hurt When Car Hits Tree Near Oberlin
Hilsworth Baldt, 38, and his daughter Marilyn Baldt, 16, of Route 58 near Oberlin were treated at Allen Hospital in Oberlin at 4:36 pm yesterday after their car crashed into a tree in their driveway. Marilyn, driving, said her foot slipped from the brake and pressed the accelerator, causing the loss of control. Baldt suffered a possible fractured left hand and a head injury while the driver was treated for lacerations and a left knee injury.

Guards Rescue Six On Trawler Belle Isle Grounding Near Cape Henry
Coast Guards rescued six crewmen from the 120 foot fishing trawler Belle Isle after it ran aground northeast of Cape Henry light. Lenear Bound To Grand Jury On Cutting Charge
Walter Lenear of 1704 Middle Avenue pleaded not guilty in Elyria Mayor's court to a cutting charge and was bound over to the Lorain County Grand Jury on a $1,000 bond. The warrant, signed by Tarlee Jones of 1938 Middle Avenue, said Lenear attacked Jones with a knife in front of Mose garage on Tremont Street, leaving a three inch cut above Jones eye requiring seven stitches at Elyria Memorial Hospital. Lenear was located Saturday morning in a room at 463 Elm Street after police pursued tips about his whereabouts.

Born in Hartland on January 13, 1880, Mr. Whitehead had lived in Elyria 43 years. He belonged to First Methodist church and several Masonic and Odd Fellows bodies.
