Former St Marys priest named Borromeo president rector
The Rev. A Edward Pevee former Elyria St Marys Church associate pastor is named president and rector of Borromeo College Seminary Wickliffe by Bishop James A Hickey. He succeeds Msgr Lawrence Cahill in May and has long served Borromeo as educator administrator and pastor with degrees from John Carroll University and Western Reserve University.

The Rev Patrick OShaughnessy longtime St Marys Church pastor since 1968 moves to St Francis Xavier Medina as senior associate pastor effective March 6. He resigns St Marys on doctor advised heart concerns. A March 4 dinner at St Marys hall honors him with mass at 5 pm and a public reception. He remains to be replaced at St Marys. He previously served at St Jerome Cleveland and St Mary Seminary.

Women’s Aglow forms new group in Westlake
A new Women’s Aglow Fellowship chapter has been organized in Westlake as part of an international network with 1 050 chapters. The interdenominational group aims to deepen personal relationships with Christ and empower Christian women through the Holy Spirit. Meetings are the first Thursday each month at 11 a.m. at Wagner’s Country Inn. Notable officers include Sandy Stefan vice president Marge Lindeman treasurer Mary Lee Canfield secretary and Vi Lindemman Outreach chair. Catholic Charities sets 1979 appeal for eight-county diocese
The Catholic Charities Corp. aims to raise at least 3.85 million during a six phase appeal from May 5 to May 20 across 240 parishes in the Cleveland Diocese. About 46 agencies in Ashland, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Summit and Wayne will benefit. The drive is led by George J. Blatt as board president and Jack H. Doyle as vice chairman with Vincent DeCrane as general chairman.
