Lorain man arrested as third suspect in store slaying
Lorain detectives arrested a 28 year old Lorain man suspected as the third figure in the Convenient Food Mart robbery and shooting of clerk Raymond Pounds. He was nabbed at a home on Elyria Ave after a witness identified him by photo. The suspect faces possible murder and armed robbery charges. A Lorain County grand jury indicted two Elyrians, Thomas Hill and Joseph Jones, for murder and robbery in the same Saturday slaying. The witness who identified Hill was at the checkout when Pounds was killed and robbed of 38 dollars. The case prompts further charges and police involvement with the prosecutor.

Foggy roads slow traffic with few accidents reported
Motorists groped through fog shrouded area highways and streets last night and early today while the fog lifted by daylight. Cleveland Hopkins Airport reported a 200 foot ceiling and quarter mile visibility in mid morning as the dense fog clung to northeastern Ohio. The Huron County sheriff described conditions as thick as pea soup with few crashes caused by slow moving traffic.

Aircraft theft ring broken up
Fourteen suspects were indicted in Los Angeles by a federal grand jury for stealing nearly 750000 dollars in government equipment including Viet Nam war engine parts.
