Lorain County Pride Day organizers say they cannot run the event this year without full funding. Seventh Generation, led by executive director George Espy, reports a unanimous board decision. County commissioners already approved 22,050 from the solid waste district, short of the 30,525 requested. The May 15 cleanup began in South Lorain a decade ago and expanded county-wide, with funds covering coordination, advertising, and dumpster disposal. Espy will meet with James Ross to resolve the gap.
The Browns award local TV rights to WKYC Channel 3 for two years to televise all non national preseason games. The season opens with the Hall of Fame Game against the Dallas Cowboys in Canton, with possible national airing of the Aug. 21 game vs the Vikings. WKYC also will produce a weekly magazine show and children’s program.
