Gas firm cites need to buy from Ohio Green Springs plant
Columbia Gas of Ohio says it must continue purchasing 7 percent of its synthetic natural gas from the Green Springs plant in Seneca County to meet current demand and take on new customers. The state AG alleged the company bought costlier synthetic gas instead of cheaper gas from its Charleston, West Virginia parent. The company also notes a binding five year contract with Columbia LNG of Wilmington, Delaware, to buy a set amount of synthetic gas, a move that accompanies pipeline curtailments from its Charleston supplier.
