Freeloading Ducks Hit Schnack Farm Near Gretna Neb
Marcus Schnack of Gretna says about 10 000 ducks moved onto his southeast Gretna farm eating corn and silage, leaving 90 acres bare as cold weather disrupts scare devices. US Fish and Wildlife staff tested devices but freezing conditions caused malfunctions. Also noted is Missouri's wintering bald and golden eagles count, with 812 bald and 38 golden eagles recorded in January in Missouri, aided by open water and reservoirs.
