Lorain records show 39 year old Henry Williams of 904 Dillewood Dr Sheffield Lake died when his eastbound car left East 31st Street bridge, struck the guard rail then plunged into the Black River near the west bank. Coast Guard divers retrieved the vehicle at dawn. drowning listed as cause. The tragedy marked Lorain’s first traffic death of 1970.
