Doctors fear girl has brain damage after transplant
In Durham North Carolina a 17 year old girl Jesica Santillan who twice underwent heart and lung transplants after the first operation failed was found to have severe possibly irreversible brain damage. Her chief benefactor said doctors told the family to prepare for the possibility of removing her from life support and blamed Duke University Medical Center for the grim turn.
Ambulance overturns in Lorain injuring paramedic
An on duty LifeCare ambulance collided with a grey Hyundai Sonata on Leavitt Road near West 21st Street in Lorain. The ambulance tipped onto its side. the Hyundai struck a tree after traveling about 150 feet. The paramedic was hospitalized and the other driver jailed. Local resident John Mussell described the crash and rescue.
