Union College librarian finds possible Washington hair lock
In Schenectady a librarian found a pocket almanac from 1793 with a envelope labeled Washingtons hair. The hair likely came through Eliza Hamilton from Martha Washington to James A Hamilton, though officials caution it may not be proven. Experts note such locks were common gifts in Washingtons era and compare to other famed relics held by archives.
