Young organists bring new blood to aging field in Perrysburg
In Perrysburg, teens Ben Garst 15 Kurt Muller 17 and Enrico Tabernero 18 study under Charlotte Mariasy at St. Rose Catholic Church as the Toledo chapter of the American Guild of Organists notes a aging field nationwide. Local scholarships and growing interest keep the craft alive with adults like Mariasy guiding students through multi keyboard, stops and pedals. Enrico adds saxophone background and senior at Perrysburg High School, while Ben and Kurt juggle lessons with church liturgy.
