Deal on EPA documents clears Anne Gorsuch

Washington AP The White House and Rep Elliott Levitas reached a compromise to allow some lawmakers to view EPA documents tied to the Superfund program. The accord ends a constitutional clash by clearing EPA administrator Anne Gorsuch of contempt after she refused a subpoena. The deal limits initial inquiries to a reasonable number of waste sites and preserves executive privilege while permitting information access in Congress. Reagan welcomed the settlement as balancing executive privilege with congressional responsibilities.
